DOES SNOW KEEP YOUR AWAY FROM THE SALON?

The massive snow storms last week(and the week before that, and the week before that) shut down schools and business across the country, and journalists predicted that the cost to the economy would be astronomical. We started to worry about our favorite salons. Were they hit with a wave of cancellations?
Here’s what we learned when we asked around: Neither snow nor sleet nor wintery mix can stay you from your appointed hair cut. Clyde Elezi of the Drawing Room in new York City said that though he had a few cancellations, overall he actually saw an uptick in business during the assive snowstorm that blanketed the city over the holidays. “We had a lot of new appointments because people couldn’t go to work or theie travel plans had been canceled, so they saw it as an opportunity to come into the salon and get their hair cut or colored.” Brad Johns, the color director for the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas, says nothingkeeps his clients away. “Very few women with roots cancel. I have clients who come in right after they’ve had a baby. Women are tough – snow doesn’t stop a root-full woman.”…
