HOW TO GET THE PERFECT HAIRCUT
(just an excerpt)
Confession: I think I’m turning into my mother. See, my mother has this freakish fear of cutting her hair. The wman has hair that almost reaches her butt! I would tell her she needed to be more like me. Throughout high school and college I tried lots of daring stuff with my locks – I’ve cut it into a short, spiky style, tried out blunt bangs, and dyed it every color from hot pink to red to black. But as I settle into my mid-20s, I find myself more and more afraid to cut it. A few weeks ago, I was blow-drying when I realized I have been sporting the same long, un-layered haircut for almost 5 years. In other words, it was time for a change. I had fotten so used to my hair. What if I didn’t like my cut?! When I was a teenager, I was all about trying different looks via my hair. It felt badass and risky. But now that I am comfortable with myself and know who I am, changing my look seemed somehow riskier. Still, I forced myself to keep the appointment…
